Maybe now you can all appreciate why I’m so tired. Here is a shot of us being ladies at the cocktail party!Īfter the party was over we headed to the Whip for more food and drinks The Whip’s motto is – Down Ales, not Rails! It’s a wonder any of us made it to the race the next morning. What happens in the Hannum bathroom, stays in the Hannum bathroom! Kimberly Barratt sporting her Middy n’ Me tunic Even Susan Oakes got in on the bathroom shenanigans. It was filled with beautiful pictures of the Hannum hunting legacy. This is gonna sound a little crazy, but one of our favorite rooms in the house was the coatroom/bathroom. DODGER Our pockets'll hold A watch of gold That chimes upon the hour. Whip it quick, and be back soon There's a sixpence here for twenty Ain't that a lovely tune Be back soon. Wow, what a beautiful home Brooklawn is, we were happy to be there rubbing elbows with the fun Cheshire crowd. FAGIN You can go But be back soon You can go, But bring back plenty Of pocket hankerchiefs And you should be clever thieves. We had met him that morning at the meet, and he brought us inside. Hannum’s Son Jock, who was so warm and welcoming. Hannum.-The Lady Blows A Horn When we arrived at Brooklawn the field was filled with cars heading in for this exciting event. One of our favorite books happens to be about Mrs. Stewart’s Cheshire Foxhounds for more than half a century. The party was being held at Brooklawn, the former home of the famous Mrs. One thing that I learned this weekend is there must not be many rotaries in Ohio because every time we went around one it went a little something like this…… Oliver clip with quote So long, fare thee well Pip-pip, cheerio Yarn is the best search for video clips by quote. When we were done at Windurra, we headed back to our hotel to get ready for the cocktail party. Notice the big mirror at the end of the beautiful outdoor dressage ring! We got to watch Silva teach a dressage lesson, WOW, was that cool! It was Easter weekend, and my wing girl for the trip Kim Barratt wore her bunny ears most of the time. Silva, Lisa, and Kim are all buddies, and I got to tag along. (I’m feeling the shame!) I really was blind with excitement the whole weekend.Īfter we were done following we stopped over for a quick visit to Silva and Boyd Martin’s Farm Windurra. I broke one of the hunting rules and yelled “Tally-Ho.” Luckily I didn’t disrupt his line, and no hounds were around yet. I managed to take a video of the hunt when we saw a fox. What a hard riding bunch of serious foxhunters! They went for hours, and we happily followed along. We were lucky to be carted around by our dear friend Lisa Thomas who drives wicked fast, BTW! We went to her house and hopped in her truck and off we went to see them go. Again, nice info about the city during that era and just a fun way to go over the Ripper case. Our Saturday started out with a bang. They're walking tours that take about 2 hours. On the other hand, my dad and I sort of breezed through the Science Museum just cherry picking things that looked up our alley and did it in about 2 hours.įinally, I would also recommend a Jack The Ripper Tour. I would also recommend the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum if you like that sort of thing, but be aware that they are HUGE and could easily take an entire day each if you're thorough. Those are sort of the really obvious things, so no surprises there. Try to get one of the buses that have a live tour guide (rather than the earphones ones) because they really add a lot to the tour, giving great background info as you go. Plus the ticket includes a free river cruise on the Thames and some other stuff. The ticket is good for 24 hours and is hop-on-hop-off wherever you like so it's a great way to get around the city cheap as well. I can recommend these guys they have a few (3?) different routes that you can take all for one price. We love a bus tour early in the visit because it orients you to the city and you get some ideas of what you'd like to see. Family sticks together, but I guess you didn’t consider me as one. They always leave you behind, unlike my pack. I think you'd want to book that in advance as it can be quite busy. RT underguempire: Who unfollowed me Sigh. Taking a ride on the London Eye in the evening is fantastic, you can see for miles and the city looks fantastic at night. Of course it's right by the London Eye, Big Ben and the Parliament buildings which are all worth a look as well, so that helps. I love massive churches/cathedrals though, all that stained glass, the architecture and just knowing that it's sooooo damn old. I don't know what sort of stuff you like, but holy shit Westminster Abbey impressed the hell out of me.
